Just In: Admission Letters in high Demand.
The demand of getting form one admission letter is getting worse as it just remains only today Sunday to enter into admission exercise.
Parents are conned and on the same time are facing crisis of transferring KCPE 2023 students into their school of choice as the requirements are increasing and varying depending the status of individual parent.
Despite all those the ministry of education has already given a directive to schools in what they are supposed to follow as the admissions continues.
Schools are not supposed to direct parents where to get uniforms, no increasing school fees unless official issue from the cabinet, all these were said clearly by Cabinet secretary for Education honourable Ezekiel Machogu while releasing 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary School, KCSE, at Moi girls high school in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu county.
A quick check showed that it’s not only about the school uniforms but also getting the admission letters parents have to part way with ten thousand shillings even more so as to be handed the letters.
Vihiga high school and Lenana School have both been pinpointed this just showing how schools have not adhered to the ministries directives with parents having to dig deeper in their pockets to meet these high standards set by schools.
A parent whose name is concealed for good reasons said he had to pay first term fees before being given admission letter when he sought a transfer from the institution his son had first been placed.
“I was instructed to pay kshs 11,000 to uniform distributors and submit the receipts to the school. This is the money I would have used to shop for him”, he said. His case is not unique as another parent who’s son is joining Vihiga High School paying kshs 9,500.
