During the ceremony held at Uhuru Gardens Nairobi on Jamhuri Day at 12th December, 2023 president William Ruto has unveiled a major financial injection into Kenya’s Education Sector signaling a commitment to support and enhance various levels of the country’s educational system.
Considering the lastest announcement, the president said clearly that the total allocation to the education sector will be an additional Kshs. 127 billion, which will embark on key areas. More news on http://education.ac.ke
President William Ruto remarks,” we have increased the total allocation to our education sector by an additional Kshs. 127 billion out of this Kshs.46 billion will support the news university funding model, an additional kshs.9 billion to cover our TVET funding model and the hiring of an extra 2,000 tutors, an additional kshs.47 billion to enable TSC hire 56,000 teachers and kshs.24 billion for basic education to cover the Junior secondary school.” #JamhuriDay#
President William Ruto emphasized the importance of investing in tertiary education to equip the nation with the skills and knowledge needed for a competitive and dynamic workforce.

Inorder to curb student-teacher centred education for conducive environment for learning president Ruto allocated kshs.47 billion to TSC. President Ruto also acknowledged the importance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) by allocating them kshs.9 billion. This funding is supposed to facilitate the hiring of an additional 2,000 tutors and enhance the TVET funding model, aiming at strengthening vocational training centres and addressing skill gaps in various industries.
As well also Basic Education was catered by being allocated for kshs.24 billion to boost the new system of education (CBC) under Junior secondary school. Mainly this money expected to run infrastructure development, curriculum enhancement and overall improvements in the quality of basic education.
