Form one 2024 placement results to be out tomorrow, Monday.
According to a notice seen by Education Matters News http://www.educationmattersnews.co.ke, the results will be released at Lenana School in Nairobi.
Before the release it is noted further that the CS Machogu will be holding a meeting with regional and County directors of education at the same venue as dated on 15th December,2023
Speaking Friday during the 70th University of Nairobi graduation, Machogu said the Form 1 placement results will be out since,the selection exercise was carried out between November 27 and the 11th of this month.
The CS announced that the selection will be fair to all the 2023 KCPE candidates.
Following the number of candidates who sat for KCPE examination this year 2023 while releasing performance last month, CS Machogu noted that 8,525 candidates scored over 400 marks representing 0.60 per cent of which we are expecting them to join National schools while 24.92 per cent was representing a cohort between 300 and 399 marks of which we expect 352,782 candidates to join Extra county schools and some few National schools.
Those with 200-299 marks on that bracket were 658,278 candidates representing 48.49 per cent comprising majority of the candidates whom will join county schools and few extra county schools while 384,912 candidates scored between 100-199 comprising 27.05 per cent whom we are expecting to join Sub-County schools.
At the same time a small percentage of 0.15 per cent of candidates less than 99 marks accounting to 2060, are expected to to join Sub-County schools leading to a total of 1,406,557 candidates who sat for this KCPE examination.
CS Machogu said the ministry had developed a fair and transparent system for Form 1 placement.
He also acknowledged the government about combative transition of 8.4.4 curriculum to new Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) as it’s underway of which the first cohort of CBC by 2029 will be joining public universities hence lementing that the universities are supposed to establish training facilities to secure resources and foster partnership globally competitive.
” This new curriculum is designed to equip our nation with the necessary skills for industrialization and to migitate high rates of unemployment,,, it is the essential for universities to collaborate closely with industries to produce graduates with the right skills set demanded by the market,” the CS Ezekiel Machogu’s read report.
He says trying to equip the nation with industrialized learners will curb challenges facing the nation leading to independent country.
